J.C. Penney was located at 1404 Broad Street, in between Hook’s Drug Store and Sears! Who recognizes this building? It burned down in 1971.
Yesterday’s picture was of the Knights of Pythias building at the northeast corner of 12th Street and Broad Street, still standing and looking great! Did you know that J.C. Penney was once located on Broad Street? It’s true! What block, 1400s or 1500s?
Last Friday’s picture was of a gentleman’s seal! This week, we take a peek at Broad Street in its earlier days. The Wright Brothers (different Wrights!) Grocery Store was located on the first floor of this building (located at the northeast corner of Broad and 12th Street).
