What is the significance of the date June 1, 2022?
This is a bit difficult to read so I’ll transcribe the top half for you: “An act was passed by the Indiana Legislature in February, 1821, creating the present county of Henry. The act was not signed by the Governor, Jonathan Jennings, till December 31, 1821, when he signed bills creating Rush, Shelby, Marion, Decatur, and other counties out of the “New Purchase.” The act creating Henry County was not to take effect till June 1, 1822.” Henry County will celebrate her bicentennial on June 1, 2022! Save the date!
