On Thursday, June 23rd, the Henry County Historical Society was pleased to welcome Donald Davidson, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway historian, for a special program. The event brought nearly 60 people to the museum to hear this fascinating speaker. Mr. Davidson spent about three hours sharing memories and stories of his multiple decades with the IMS and the 500 Mile Race.

This event was designed as a fund raiser to help the Historical Society pay for needed repairs to the museum. We recently were awarded a Heritage Support Grant by the Indiana Historical Society, made possible by Lilly Endowment. Through ticket sales and several generous donations we raised over $800.00 toward our grant matching funds.
The Historical Society continues to raise funds to help with ongoing restoration work. Another special evening program will be held in August. The Historical Society will host a popular comedian of regional and national radio fame. It will be an evening of laughter and fun, and all for a great cause!
Watch our website and Facebook page for more information. This will also be a limited seating, one time event, and an evening you will not want to miss!
