Yesterday’s picture was of a chalkboard slate. Children didn’t have notebooks and Trapper Keepers in early schoolhouses; they used a chalkboard slate to work out arithmetic problems and practice spelling and handwriting.
Today’s picture is a spur. Did a Union soldier wear this or a Confederate soldier?
